Gun laws are the most pointless thing you can imagine. I know, I know you’re on the other side of the isle crying because you think you are saving lives when gun laws are put into place. Then after every incident a new law is passed in order to justify the deaths of those who were victims of the attacks. Kind of a sob story, but it is really getting old.
My favorite is how others think that countries with very strict gun laws have somehow solved crime. They think that everyone is living in paradise and violent offenders have just given up since they don’t have a gun. Well, we have seen just in the past few months how wrong they are, and it is in a way that I wish was not as severe as they would have had to endure if someone in that country was to be armed.
Russian gun laws may surprise some of you as they do have laws that allow access to firearms through the standard means of a class needing to be taken as well extensive federal background checks. I would like to preface this by saying good for that country….don’t really care what other countries do in order to “protect” their citizens, because it is never going to stop people from killing other people. For example:
“In July, the Russian legislature passed a set of amendments to the Law on Weapons (Federal Law No. 227 of July 21, 2014, ROSSIISKAIA GAZETA (July 23, 2014) (in Russian)). These revisions increased the minimum age for purchasing non-lethal weapons from 18 to 21, established that only state medical clinics can conduct the psychiatric evaluations required to apply for a gun permit, and imposed criminal penalties on gun owners who did not take measures to prevent unauthorized access to their guns. Those gun owners who are found carrying their weapons while under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be fined, their concealed carry permit may be canceled, and their weapons may be confiscated (id.).” (Library of congress)
If you pay attention to the highlighted part above, you will notice this is about letting people own guns who have psychiatric evaluations done before being able to own a firearm. Well in the article here you will notice this did not turn out the way that the law is supposed to protect. A gunman opened fire on a school killing 17 and wounding 24. Article states: APnews.com
“The governor of Udmurtia, Alexander Brechalov, said the gunman, who he said was registered as a patient at a psychiatric facility, killed himself after the attack.”
As much as we would like to believe that people are not capable of the atrocities that happen when we see the news, we have to remember the same thing about gun laws. We all would like to believe that they work, but they are merely a state of delusion that we all live in. These are where politicians think that they have some sort of power over a large group of individuals when they say that whatever laws that they have voted on will be saving lives. It is all being sold to those who are suckers enough to believe it. Even worse, they may not have adequate means of protecting themselves because they believe the government has done it for them. Not hard to find articles or videos on YouTube of atrocities that have happened that laws were supposed to have provided safety. All it has done is provided a false sense of security for everyone who believes the lie, and what is worse it has encouraged you to put yourself in danger when nobody is going to be able to come to your rescue in time.
Another example is what just happened in Australia. “Australia doesn’t have a mass shooter problem.” You may be right, but now they have switched to stabbings. This is a perfect example when only 1 person has a gun in a mall of thousands of people. The people must rely on public service to be there in time to save them or just run away. Also, when I said you might be right, ya I lied. Shootings still occur in Australia.

Lastly, I would like to bring your attention to the National Institute of Justice article. This is in reference to the “assault weapons” ban which just sounds stupid considering it is a made-up term by anti-gunners who think that just because of added features of a semi-automatic rifle such as muzzle break, pistol grips and adjustable shoulder stocks. This magically makes them into a made-up category known as “assault weapons.” Also, semi auto rifles have been around for 100 years, but I digress; the “assault weapons” ban lasted from 1994-2004. Signed in by blow job Bill Clinton in 1994. In the NIJ article it states:
- The project spanned mass shootings over more than 50 years, yet 20% of the 167 mass shootings in that period occurred in the last five years of the study period.
- More than half occurred after 2000, of which 33% occurred after 2010.
- The years with the highest number of mass shootings were 2018, with nine, and 1999 and 2017, each with seven.
- Sixteen of the 20 deadliest mass shootings in modern history (i.e., from 1966 through 2019), occurred between 1999 and 2019, and eight of those sixteen occurred between 2014 and 2019.
- The death toll has risen sharply, particularly in the last decade. In the 1970s, mass shootings claimed an average of eight lives per year. From 2010 to 2019, the end of the study period, the average was up to 51 deaths per year.
To clarify, even during the time span of an “assault weapons” ban it made no difference in the amount of mass shootings. There was still an average throughout the time period. Some of you may be saying “well we have to do something.” I agree but guns exist and taking them away from people who wish to not be victims is not an answer. As well, laws are just a way to make yourself feel better about not having a solution to the problem. Whether it is arming teachers, or having police at schools round the clock, it is a much better answer than thinking writing something on a piece of paper is physically going to stop someone from killing. Don’t be lazy, protect each other, Bangov Actual out.
