Contradictions Come Out Of Nowhere

Life is one big contradiction. What I mean by this is getting where you have to go in life is not always as easy as going for the gold, or climbing the corporate ladder. A contradiction is defined as: a combination of statements, ideas, or features of a situation that are opposed to one another,  Or a person, thing, or situation in which inconsistent elements are present. So we as a people are highly involved in the contradictions of life. Court battles, opposing ideas, or even the inconsistencies we put ourselves through. We decide a certain path for us, and we end up going another way entirely. Nothing wrong with that, that is kind of why I am writing this. Hell Michael Jordan played baseball, so really anything is possible at this point. The Island Boys are famous, so just goes to show just what can be accomplished while on a certain path. Not saying it is easy, as I never will, but I have just come to terms that I may never be satisfied with one pursuit. I like to work. I like to continuously have things to do. Which of course is a contradiction of me as well having dreams and aspirations of having a life that I no longer have to work for anymore. Definitely hard to picture myself not working ever. I personally would get bored on a beach. I’ll enjoy a couple drinks, maybe 4 or 5 but the point is that I will have reached a moment of clarity in mind that this is not real. It is a fabrication of reality that anyone could be anywhere doing anything for the rest of their life and be truly “happy. ”Happy” or happiness is defined as: feeling or showing pleasure or contentment, or having a sense of confidence in or satisfaction with (a person, arrangement, or situation). Life is constantly in motion, so to be happy is only for as long as the mind allows. For some of you, you just keep drinking and want to live in that world forever. We’ve all been there, and man is it fun, but reality must set in and keep you on your feet in order to keep life interesting, or as I said, ONE BIG CONTRADICTION. Then you have those who are going for the gold. We all remember steroids right? People still use those things? Makes your dick smaller, which everyone sees as a huge oversight. Would probably stop there if you told me that. “Any side effects doctor?” “Yes it will make your package shrivel like two raisins and an Oscar Meyer Weiner whistle.”…”hmmmm, maybe not for me.” Words I always have said to myself are “always look for the contradictions.” These don’t necessarily have to be consequences. Sometimes they are just underlying situations that may dictate which direction you take. Point being is you can try as hard as humanly possible to earn the right to wear gold, and still a month before let the fear set in and be doing steroids to make sure that your time has not been wasted. Don’t lie to yourself and try to remain at the top when the top is just a fabrication of happiness. You make it there, great, just don’t try and stay there forever if you’re going to destroy other parts of yourself. Contradictions don’t have to catch up to you, they are already ahead along the way. Belief vs Trust

Belief vs trust, to believe those who you let into your life is a maze of twists and turns that cannot be expressed through the written word. Ups and downs, that between 2 people have a shift, a paradigm of human interaction, actions, and exchange of phrases in order to further connect each other’s existence through a given period of time. Though on the surface you may have many acquaintances, and everything may look great on the top. You must ask yourself for those you want close to you, do you believe, or do you trust these people? Another common misconception that people do not communicate towards those they wish to be closer to. In creating a stronger bond with others we must share vulnerabilities, experiences and ask for their opinions on the matter. If you don’t feel as if someone’s opinion is of any worth to you, then why keep them around? Maybe they are younger, have done things in the past that you don’t feel as if they are the best person for you to ask advice about a particular situation. Belief is defined as: an acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists. Belief is the mind telling your body that it is OK to enter, or what can be transferred to a physical response in knowing things are safe. To trust is defined as: firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something. To trust someone as a reliable source of guidance or even perspective for the long term. That is what makes trust and belief so different. Ladies and gentlemen reading, though your significant other tells you they never went home with that person from the bar. Maybe you believe them, but does history or evidence tell you that they are trusting, that they will never put themselves in that situation again? Cheating is an easy way for me to communicate this to you, but what about a harder example. What if I was to tell you to believe in yourself? It is all the praise right now for life coaches to tell you to believe in your potential, abilities. What about trust? Do you believe for a week that you will keep yourself on track in order to find and commit to your own pursuit? Or do you not trust yourself for the  long term of committing to what you feel deep down is what you were meant to do? Say to yourself that you believe in what you are doing, but you don’t trust. If you don’t believe that then you must trust and have more confidence in your ability than you were led to believe by yourself. Believing is achieving, meh, seems outdated, If you trust you must. If you trust then you have a soul purpose of responsibility of seeing it through. A belief can waver, to trust is more reliable, all you must do is commit. Bangov Actual, out.

Decisions Of Pain

Pain, how do we deal with it? Pain is defined as: physical suffering or discomfort caused by illness or injury. We always ask how  to deal with pain because when you’re in pain you can’t avoid something that is already happening. Getting hit by a truck and then jumping out of the way. No you just got ran da fuck over. Physical, or mental pain is the subject of many today because mental illness has made the headlines. Kind of the rule, if it is in the news, then it is all people ever really bring up. I mean even in random conversation someone will warrant the subject out of nowhere trying to make light of a situation they heard about on the news. It is all fun and games until someone disagrees with you. Then the cold chill goes down everyone’s spine. Oh no they don’t see things exactly the same. Why isn’t that a mental illness? The mere fact that someone could have an opinion different from your own. IMPOSSIBLE, it is almost as if someone who has had a different upbringing, lifer experiences or influences than me. Well this cannot be happening.  I will gladly repeat it over and over again till maybe they just didn’t hear me the first time, or maybe if I scream in their face they may see how passionate about the topic and say, “oh, they seem angry, they must know something I don’t.” Wouldn’t life be so great to where if people went off emotion, life would be so grand??? Probably not, it would suck. Mental illness being defined as: are health conditions involving changes in emotion, thinking or behavior (or a combination of these). Mental illnesses are associated with distress and/or problems functioning in social, work or family activities. Well let’s say that truck that hit you now has begun to change who you are. Of course it is hard to choose how someone will react to certain tragedies. Will they look both ways across the street, or will just never cross a street again, walk aimlessly in circles and be trapped in their own pain of a traumatic event that statistically is very unlikely. Choices made under emotion are very risky, and usually made under stress have a poor result of bringing us out of our own pain. That is not to say people cannot make decisions under extreme circumstances. This being a military veteran blogging site I think making decisions under high stress, the occupation speaks for itself. When “dealing” with your pain, understand a choice has to be made. The injury has occured, may have some scars later, but a decision has to be made still. Are you the one to run, and develop a mental illness of living in fear that you may not be able to make it across the street. Or do you make the decision to stare at your fear, and say fuck you, I decide my pain. Bangov Actual, out.

The “Power” Against Worrying

Worry, worry is defined as: give way to anxiety or unease; allow one’s mind to dwell on difficulty or troubles. Pay attention to the words being used. If to worry is allowing yourself to do anything, then knowing you have the ability to manipulate your own worry, you may just worry for the right reasons, or even utilize worry, instead of letting it control you. Your difficulties or troubles can only be managed by you. So you need to take into consideration the power you possess of your own emotions. You may SUCK at it now, but the day to day of consciously pushing yourself makes you more and more resilient to variable change happening around you. Of course it is stressful, it is wear and tear on the body and your consciousness. You have to condition yourself to being the constant that you wish to perform at. Not saying you have to hit the gym. Mentality is the game. Why wouldn’t anything else be different? Look I have had my share of failures, which is why I am 30 talking out into the ether. Come on laugh, it is OK to be brutally honest with yourself. At least I have an audience though. A lot of you scream, cuss and question out into the ether out of fear, anxiety, loss and you feel like you’re alone. I am here to tell you that you are not alone. Bangov grows everyday. More and more views of those like you who are not alone. The community is growing, the message is being spread, maybe not even through word of mouth but through actions taken by those who have read. Every day those who read are doing things to change their way of life for the better. You should as well, reader or not. Worry is a very powerful word that has the ability to affect a lot of people. Worry about money, job, family, worry about worrying. Like a lot of things I like to discuss in my blogs, people are talking to you but have never communicated what these words effectively mean. Effectively meaning how they affect your confidence, your identity, and your worth. To have the “power” to affect your mood. Power is defined as: the ability to do something or act in a particular way, especially as a faculty or quality. Power is another bullshit term people have been throwing around. Like it is this magical, mystical entity that we need to possess in order to make changes for ourselves. When you break it down, defining the word power seems less heroic. You don’t have to be more powerful than a locomotive, leap tall buildings, or even overcome the SAME FUCKING ORIGIN STORY in every movie. You have the ABILITY, ability is defined as: possession of the means or skill to do something. OR talent, skill, or proficiency in a particular area. I have written this before and it will be written again, go with the path of least resistance when it comes to your ability in making a way of life for yourself. What are you good at, what is your talent. When you realize what that is, you’ll worry less or you’ll worry the same, you just will have the “POWER” to act accordingly. Bangov actual, out.

Art Of Confusion

The things discussed when it comes to persistence, or consistency really can only be devoted to when you actually enjoy what you are doing. Call it a path of least resistance in your mind. When you have may different things that inspire you to continue on, only one will really stand out. Maybe 2 or 3 after a while. It all starts with one though. Almost as if an ah ha moment in your head happened after you’ve realized this “this is my thing.” It’s mucky and a slow transition of thoughts that all work together in the mind to mold your self identify into realizing this is what you should be doing with your time, and again OF COURSE you can have others. They may be very important to you as well. Not saying to forget about them, but just try to get one in motion. When you go to work, do you really have to think about doing it anymore? You have to go, you’re getting paid, bills are not going to pay themselves. Think of when you first started your job, you had a 6 month probationary period, you invested time learning what was needed to get done. Same thing with your own pursuits. Just have a persistent effort in learning your craft and analyzing how it works for you. Will get easier in a way, but you will strive to challenge yourself in thinking how you could improve your art to make it your own. A web of your pursuit, so to speak, the more confusing it seems to others, the more vested you have become in being a master of your craft. Bangov Actual, out.

Take Away Everything, What Do You Have To Offer?

What if I was to tell you that I was taking every tool you had away from you? If you’re in construction, no more shovel, no more air compressor, nail gun, saws, nothing that you have grown accustomed to working with was available to you anymore. What would you do? If you’re a computer person, what would you do without one? What would be your adaptation to the world in order to survive, make money and sustain or even expand your way of life? Doing a lot of jobs has its perks of being able to do a lot of jobs, make connections, and when time is limited, being able to do things yourself. Nobody wants to call the electrician to put in a ceiling fan when it would take me 15 min. Of course that’s assuming my house isn’t built around WW1 and wires may have gotten crossed and while one switch used to work when I unplugged it now it doesn’t so I have to rewire the short one that has been cut too many times, but that’s another story. What is it inside of our brain that tells us what we are doing needs to change? We look at what we have, we look at what we own, and we think I want more, but less. I don’t want a bunch of meaningless things that fill up space in my home. I want things in my home that are utilized. If not I throw them out. As well utilized for certain purposes. I’m not saying throw out all your silverware and just have 1 spoon, 1 fork and a knife. Definitely not a place to entertain. I do look at all the things that have accumulated, and I just think that I would love to be able to move from place to place with just a backpack and my dog. Jump in the truck and go. Not saying this is for everyone, but for those who define your wants and needs out of life, what do we do in order to make them reality. It’s just an example, if you like having a lot of shit, go ahead. What do we identify with in our home. I see tools, I know someone likes to build things. Probably likes to save money and time if they prefer to do things themselves. If I walk into a home and see no tools at all. It’s just shiny shit, maybe what’s worth his or her time and money is paying someone else to do it for them. With what we own, we identify. Get rid of everything you own, and then ask yourself, would you buy it all again? Or did you buy it all in the first place thinking you would regret it? Bangov Actual, out.

Dreams Can Be Shattered, Will You Be?

I’m reminded of dreams I had as a kid, first it was Babe Ruth, then Space Jam came out, so basketball was all I did. Baseball ended with a shoulder going out before high school. Basketball sort of ended when the military became the priority at 15. Sure I could have played ball still, but as I got older, college seemed like a place that I would have gone for my dreams to die. So I thought the Marine Corps was all unicorns and fairy dust, that is where I ended up. Military was hard to get away from, the financial security, travel, and would be something for me to learn new things for the next 20 years or so. Problem was I was always being told what to do, where to go, and shaving everyday was just nonsense to me. I had other dreams, and passions, I just didn’t know where to focus them at the time. When I think of all the sports, jobs and dreams that were in motion, I realize the follow through was what always was short. So knowing that I knew I never wanted to really do them. For as many twists and turns life will give you as you age, it has brought me to a point where I am now, and I continually question decisions made in the past. Of course reflection is not a bad thing, but always remember to not dwell. Look forward and make the decision to forget what could have been and focus on where you want to end up. Life could be perfect before you are 25. Billionaire, wife, kids, cars and a house. Remember the life you live continues through what passion drives you. Life can go bad at any time, so having a pursuit is always what will keep your head on straight. Don’t lose yourself in thinking that you’re finished, you’ve completed all you needed to. Many things to come are going to help you in living a full life, and a happy one. Bangov Actual, out.
